When you practice the FELDENKRAIS® method, you begin to experience movements. The movements are performed in a pleasant, light way, and certain elements are varied, differentiated... In this way, you move with awareness of your whole body - in FELDENKRAIS® we talk about awareness. Thanks to this ‘awareness while moving’, FELDENKRAIS® practitioners gradually develop a higher level of awareness in all their actions: ‘awareness through movement ATM’ develops. The individual work (functional integration) uses light, precise touch as a means of direct bodily communication instead of speech, and allows us to feel the relationships between movements and the more effective interaction of the individual components involved in a movement. Such a teaching unit can be targeted at particular aspects brought in by the learner or pursue a more global objective. This is why FELDENKRAIS® has a positive effect on physical and mental health.
