Manual lymph drainage
Manual lymph drainage (MLD) is a form of physical therapy that forms part of complex decongestive physical therapy (CPT) for the treatment of lymph oedema. It has a wide range of applications. It is mainly used to treat oedema and decongestion of oedematous areas of the body, such as the trunk and extremities (arms and legs), which can occur after trauma or surgery. This therapy is particularly often prescribed after the treatment of a tumour or the removal of a lymph node.
